Hello from Ontario!

Hey guys and gals,

Mark from Ontario here, been checking out some of these towing sites the last while since I have some downtime over the winter. I'm not an active tower, but have had an interest in it since I was a little kid, and heard my Dad talk about when he had his wrecker and garage at one time. He was a mechanic by trade, and had his own shop for a few years just before I was born.

He taught me a lot about wrenching over the years, and since then I've developed a real likely for the old IDI diesels in the 80's and early 90's Fords, and have a few of them. I've had it in the back of my mind that if I came across one with a wrecker for the right price I just might have to grab it.

Anyway, mostly here to look, listen and learn, enjoy the pics, and maybe sometime soon I can start asking about a truck or techniques!

Badger, the IDI is the 'In-direct Injection', which was the 6.9/7.3 International engine used in the Fords (and some Internationals too) from '83 through '94, when the 7.3 Powerstroke was introduced. They were a mechanical Injection system versus an electronic one, so not as easy to modify etc, but once one understands them, they are simple to work on, and parts are cheap.
