i'm outta here!
after long consideration and going back and forth with what I want out of my life, I have decided to retire from anything to do with the towing industry,
I have set back and watched as this industry totally went to shit. I have been to tow shows and seen some of the people who represent this industry and the way they depict our lives and treat others around them and frankly I am embarrassed to say I am part of this industry.
the auto clubs have decimated the industry with their hack rates and the totally ignorant providers who will spend over 100k on a rollback plus insurance and finance not to mention maintenance , and not realizing that their 100k investment turns into a 250k investment over 5 years and you just cant do that many 24.00 calls to justify it,
( that's about 45 calls a week not including fuel or payroll ) however they are the main ones bitching about the rates.......when they in fact are the reason behind the ultimate collapse of the industry as a whole. it's a vicious circle and it pains me to sit here and watch these idiots continue. and with the state patrols demanding we keep all the equipment they think we should have never mind what it cost as well as demand we show up on scene within 30 minutes yet allowing the auto club 90 minutes to show up on scene to basically bump us with a wore out truck and not so much as a push broom. is absolutely un acceptable.....therefore we have made the decision to retire and send everything to Ritchie Bros.
God bless you all...........and stay safe.

I certainly can understand that, i feel the same way some days but i stay at it just to get the debt paid off then decide what to do from there.
So Leo what is the exit plan? sit on the front porch and drink lemonade, paint pictures or a completely different line of work? You have to have or find something to do and occupy your time or a year from now you'll be gone.
What ever the outcome i wish you success. Dave

Re: i'm outta here!
Well, I liken the the tow business to owning a large boat. Best two days are the day you get it and the day you get out of it.
Good luck with your future endeavors!
